Architecture & Historic Preservation Committee
The Architecture & Historic Districts Committee of the Reservoir Hill Association (RHA) is dedicated to preserving the historic charm and architectural integrity of our unique neighborhood while advocating for thoughtful and sustainable development. As a community with rich history and diverse architecture, Reservoir Hill thrives on the contributions of residents, non-resident owners, and lessees who share a commitment to its preservation and enhancement.
What We Do
The Architecture & Historic Districts Committee works to:
Preserve Historic Integrity: Collaborate with Baltimore City to ensure compliance with building codes and CHAP (Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation) guidelines.
Advocate for Responsible Development: Monitor zoning enforcement and work to balance new development with the historic character of our community.
Support Community Voices: Assist residents and Historic District members in preparing for city hearings, such as zoning appeals or code enforcement discussions, and attend hearings to represent the community's interests.
Educate and Empower: Provide resources and guidance on CHAP guidelines, zoning requirements, and the responsibilities of living in a historic district.
Foster Collaboration: Work alongside other RHA committees, including Planning & Development and Safety & Security, to address community-wide concerns and promote cohesive solutions.
Why It Matters
