On Monday, October 20th the City Council voted to give preliminary approval to CCB bills 25-0064 and 25-0065.
The bills will come up for a final vote on Monday, October 27th at 5 pm.
Bill 25-0064 Permits larger buildings on all residential lots and reduces the yard size requirements in all residential zones - Resulting in less open and green space in residential neighborhoods and intensifying the heat islands experienced in many City neighborhoods. Less open space will also negatively impact neighboring properties.
Bill 25-0065 Completely eliminates off-street parking requirements for new building projects in all residential and commercial zones throughout the City. Resulting in more parking congestion for existing residents.

Handouts to developers without guardrails is no path to affordable housing!
We are entering into a housing emergency and need radical change for affordable housing now. Proponents are using research that claims that a housing boom in wealthier neighborhoods will create affordable housing here. We call BS. It’s no time for half measures!
This is an attack on the Black Butterfly.
We want to keep our neighbors in our communities. This type of zoning package has shown to displace Black communities.
Options Opportunities: Big Developers v Neighbors
We are being pushed against the wall. Our taxes are financing big developers who use our money to make decisions that work for them. All take no give. Instead we want to see actions like cooperative housing and rent stabilization that have shown to keep our neighbors in place.
